Salt & Stone is a made-up business and Nina isn't a real person. This page is a demonstration by Fully Booked of what the £397 build includes. Nothing here can be booked and the phone number and email don't go anywhere.

Salt & Stone Seaford

Sports & remedial massage · Seaford High Street

Pressure, exactly
where it's needed.

A shoulder that's been stiff for weeks. A back that went when you lifted something. A calf that won't let go after a run. Nina works the tissue that's actually causing the trouble — specific, deep, and not a general rub-down. Sixty minutes, £70, five minutes from the beach.

Treatments and prices

Three lengths. One way of working.

Every appointment is the same kind of work — assessment, then deep, specific soft-tissue treatment. The length decides how much ground gets covered. If you're not sure, book sixty minutes.

30 minutes · focused area

One problem, worked properly

£45

A shoulder, a calf, the low back. Good for a flare-up you know well, or for keeping a trouble spot quiet between longer sessions. Not enough time for a first visit.

60 minutes · full treatment

The standard appointment

£70

Time to talk, look at how you move, work the problem area and the tissue around it that's compensating, and finish with one or two things to do at home. Most people start here.

90 minutes · extended

When several things are going on

£95

Whole back and both legs, or a full upper body, without rushing anything. The right choice the week before an event, or after a long spell of ignoring it.

Block · five 60-minute treatments

Working through something

£320 £64 each

Five full treatments to use within six months. For people training through a season or dealing with a problem that needs more than one visit. Book the first one here and pay for the block on the day.

Pay on the day by card or cash. No deposit is taken online. Cancellation terms are below.

Your first appointment

How the hour actually goes.

Most people have never had sports massage and aren't sure what they're walking into. This is it, in order.

  1. Talking about 5 min

What hurts, when it started, what makes it worse, what you're training for or doing at work. If a physio sent you, bring whatever they told you.

  2. Looking at how you move about 5 min

Reach, turn, bend — a few simple movements so Nina can see what's restricted, not just where it's sore. The sore bit is often not the cause.

  3. The work most of the hour

Deep, specific and sometimes uncomfortable — never more than you can breathe through. She'll ask; you should answer honestly. Pressure that makes you hold your breath is too much and doesn't help.

  4. What next last few minutes

What she found, one or two things to do this week, and whether another session is worth it. If it isn't, she'll say so.

Is this the right thing?

Good for this. Not for that.

Come in if

  • Something's been tight or achy for more than a couple of weeks and isn't shifting
  • You train and want to keep training — recovery between sessions, or the week before an event
  • Your work is physical or your desk is, and your neck, shoulders or low back are paying for it
  • A physio, osteopath or GP has said "get some soft-tissue work done"

Don't book yet if

  • You hurt yourself in the last 48 hours and it's swollen, hot or you can't put weight on it — get it looked at first
  • You've got a fever, an infection or a skin condition that's flaring in the area
  • The pain is new, unexplained, or comes with numbness or pins and needles — see your GP or a physio before anyone presses on it
  • You want a relaxing massage with oils and quiet music. That's a lovely thing — it just isn't what this room is for

Not sure? Book anyway. If Nina thinks you should see someone else first, she'll say so in the first five minutes and won't charge you.

What people say

Plain words from the table.

Couldn't turn my head far enough to reverse the van. Two sessions and it's gone, and she told me exactly what I'd been doing to cause it, which no one else had bothered to.

Dave R. · plasterer, Seaford

I swim off the beach all year and my upper back was permanently tight. I go monthly now. It's the first thing I book at the start of the month, not the last.

Priya M. · sea swimmer

My physio said get soft-tissue work and I had no idea where to start. Nina explained everything as she went, didn't try to sell me a course, and it hurt in exactly the right way.

Who you'll see

Nina. Just Nina.

Salt & Stone has been one room and one therapist since 2019. Nina does every treatment herself, keeps her own diary and answers her own messages — which is why booking online is the quickest way to get a time. She works mainly with people who use their bodies hard, for sport or for a living, and who'd rather understand what's going on than be told to rest.

She'll tell you if she thinks massage isn't the answer. She'd rather lose an hour's fee than have you come back for something that needs a different kind of help.

Finding the room, and the small print

Above the shop, up the stairs.

Seven Sisters from Seaford Head, twenty minutes' walk from the door. Most people leave and go and look at it.

Where

Salt & Stone
First floor, 12a High Street
Seaford, East Sussex BN25 1PL
(an invented address — this is an example site)

The door is to the left of the shop front, with a buzzer marked S&S. There are fourteen stairs and no lift. If stairs are a problem, say so when you book and Nina will come down and take your time. Seaford station is a four-minute walk. There's two-hour free parking on Dane Road after 10am, and a rack in the hall if you cycle.

What to wear

Shorts, and a vest or sports bra, so the muscles can be seen and reached. You'll be covered with a towel wherever work isn't happening. For a 30-minute focused session Nina can often work through thin clothing if you'd prefer. Come as you are from work — there's nowhere to shower, but nobody minds.

Cancelling or moving

Twenty-four hours' notice, please — a text or an email is fine. With less than that, or if you don't turn up, the full fee is due unless the slot gets filled. You can move an appointment once for free with a day's notice. If you're ill, just say; Nina would rather you stayed at home.
